Juanita Stroud Martin’s New Book, A Taste of Life Published on Amazon

 

Juanita Stroud Martin recently published her new book on Amazon.com.  The hardcover book, entitled A Taste of Life: Prisms — Through a Glass Darkly, is a photo-rich, 278-page, 8.5 x 11 inch labor of love. The book provides original photos as well as typed and handwritten stories and history of the trailblazing Stroud family of Colorado Springs.

Juanita is a former entertainer, teacher, socialite, TV and radio personality, and Stroud family historian and spokesperson. Now she is also an accomplished author.

Juanita Stroud Martin is the daughter of the legendary Phi Beta scholar-athlete and 1928 Olympic hopeful, Kelley Dolphus Stroud. The scope of the book includes Dolphus’ parents, the Rev. Kimball Dolphus Stroud and Lulu Magee, his ten siblings and their progeny.

Juanita Stroud Martin is a teacher, author, poet, performance artist, U.S. Navy veteran and mother.

She is also the co-owner, co-producer, and co-editor of Black Beat Productions, a television and video production company.

A Colorado Springs resident, Mrs. Martin was a professional jazz singer, contemporary music singer with “Sapphire” and member of “The Original Slaves” performance group in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Juanita is a two-time performer with A Music Company’s production of “Ladies Sing the Blues,” and was a KRCC Radio personality on Gregory Johnson’s weekly program, “The Dude,” presenting “Nationwide Black News” and “Let’s Talks Black.”
